Washington, D.C. – Following news that FBI agents raided Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s home, Cole Leiter, Executive Director of Americans Against Government Censorship, shared the following statement:

“The raid on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s home is another dangerous escalation in this administration’s targeting of people who challenge President Trump. And now, just weeks until the election, the administration’s decision to target another Black woman in power is a pattern that cannot be ignored.

No president and no administration – Democrat or Republican – should be able to weaponize the federal government to silence critics, punish political opponents, or intimidate people into submission. Federal law enforcement must serve the public and uphold the law, not serve as a president’s instrument of personal revenge. Americans Against Government Censorship stands against any abuse of power, regardless of who is in office or who is being targeted.”
